#fringecover

Last week saw the reemergence of TwitterPicture, but not as we know it! Working with the dream team that is the world's largest Arts Festival, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Scottish Design Consultancy of the Year, Whitespace and the awesome Fringe audience, we embarked on an epic inky adventure entitled " #fringecover "

Click here for more background details on #Fringecover.

The Fringe audience and Twitter community rose to the challenge and sent in their suggestions in the hundreds! The response was overwhelming. From hippos on stilts to flying teacups and saucers, horses in kilts and cupcake eating competitions - the suggestions were every bit as weird and wonderful as we had hoped!

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who got involved!

We're still totting up all the stats and tweets, but we had well over 1,000 suggestions from all over the world. I spent two 12 hour days behind a big glass wall, surrounded by cameras, feverishly translating as many of your tweets as humanly possible into delicate little pen and ink drawings, the very best of which will feature on the 400,000 Programmes printed this summer. And yes, my hand did hurt by the end.

drawing!

If you missed the live streaming, not to worry, we've documented the whole process and will be releasing a sneaky ‘behind the scenes making of' film to coincide with the Programme launch in June.

And the final artwork? Well that's under lock and key in a high security vault somewhere in deepest, darkest Edinburgh until the Programme launch on June 10th .

Click here to pre-order your Priogramme and own your very own little piece of the #fringecover story. (They are free, you just pay P&P)

For now, I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to the super lovely Whitespacers for letting me move into their studio for 2 days and for doing magical things with computers, websites and cameras. Also big thanks to the Fringe team for such an amazing commission and to Sally for being a little Twitter Superstar for 2 days solid. J
