#fringecover wins Dadi Award!     15th Nov 2010

The Dadi Awards for Digital Creativity were held on Friday night and I'm super chuffed to announce that #fringecover for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe won the award for Best Use of Social Media, fighting off competition from the likes of Paramount Pictures and Nokia.

Edinburgh design agency Whitespace, who commissioned the very special  2 day #twtitterpicture, picked up the prize along with a commendation in the Campaign Which Became Viral category.

Click here to find out more about the crowd sourced project and how Twitter was used to design the Fringe Covers.

It's great to see the #twitterpicture concept of crowd source creativity win such a prestigious accolade and even better to see a campaign that centered on the analogue art of hand drawing win a digital award.

The idea of using social media to create images and collaborative works seems to have captured the imagination of Twitter users, Festival goers and judges alike and I'm pleased as punch that all the epic drawing stints and sore right hands have been recognized with a nice sparkly trophy!

High fives and gold stars to Charlie and the brilliant team at Whitespace, the guys at The Fringe and of course everyone on Twitter who got involved in the project - it wouldn't have been a success without your contributions!

Also, a great big Congrats to the lovely people up here at Hamptons (who designed my website!) for winning not only the Best Website Category but also the Chairman's Award for their superb work for the boys at BrewDog! We're a busy little lot up here in Aberdeen ;)
