A few motnhs ago I received an email from Dan, a Graphic Design student at Gray's School of Art here in Aberdeen. Dan was after some high res images to use in a project he was working on. For obvious reasons, I don't usually give away high res artwork, but I thought I'd make an exception for a student in my home town. And I'm so glad I did! Check out the images of Dan's final pieces below.

Here's what he had to say about his work:

Basically the brief required us to create a poster to represent one of our favourite designers/illustrators etc. which would be displayed at the London Design Festival. In order to do this though we had to create a logo first of all which would stay true to the designer's style. So my idea was the keep everything more or less entirely about your illustrations and keep everything else understated.

The logo itself is obviously just a combination of your "Peking" illustration (I got it right that time!) and your initials in the same typeface that you've already used on your website.

We also had to create a business card for our chosen designers as well. Again I wanted to keep it relatively straight forward but, after reading your feature in Creative Arts I think it was, I got to thinking about your heritage and the way your work can often be associated with tattoo art. This gave me the idea of having a business card that was also a tattoo transfer. So basically the piece of paper that slides out of the business card sleeve is actually a tattoo transfer and then when this is taken out of the sleeve you can see your details inside.

Lastly we also had to create a 3D promotional item to go with everything else. I love the fact that you're so passionate about drawing your illustrations by hand so I thought, what better way to promote your work than including a fine liner for people to have a go themselves. There's also a CQD barcode on the side which, when scanned directs you to your website - it should scan from that photo if you want to try it out :)
