Weekend Round-up 6th Feb 2009

(Lovely Dundee sunrise as seen from the window by my desk - nice view huh?)
This week snow brought the rest of the UK to a grinding halt (the Southerners really need to learn how to cope with the frosty stuff!) so I cranked up the heating and got stuck into some last minute prep for Indigo.
All the new designs are now nicely mounted up and ready to go. I've tried to combine a variety of large and small scale designs, with all over repeats and some placement prints; a plethora of inky black and white patterns and motifs.

Some last minute additions to the folio were these inky watercolour style pieces - I love the ones on squared paper, could really see them working well on a cool little t-shirt collection for an urban youth label. Mmmmm.

A new Press Kit is available for download now, with a few new images and some updated details on the studio and the Indigo Press Release. Journalists, Editors and anyone with a hint of curiosity, download one here - its free!
The First Thurstday event went down well with the creative peeps of Dundee on Thursday morning, as did the free coffee and pastries! Lots of familiar faces and some new ones. Game developers, designers, website programmers, illustrators, musicians, film makers and animators all made an early morning dash in the nippy cold to the DCA to hear about the plans for NEoN (North East of North) a super-cool event happening later this year and to take part in a spot of bleary eyed networking. As usual, I arrived with no business cards, not even a Hello Mug - will I ever learn?! Oh, and I now know the significance of 38 minutes, but I'm afraid, its bit of a secret! However if your curiosity is getting the better of you, I'm open to bribes - this is a recession after all.
And finally, as you know I'll be away all next week at Indigo, so my blog posts may be a bit sporadic! I'm praying to the Travel Gods to allow my flights from Aberdeen to Paris to be hitch-free (no snow cancellations or lost portfolios at Terminal 5!). If you are visiting the show stop by Stand 6Z7 (just in front of the Paul Café - treat yourself to a pain au chocolat and some super-scrumptious black and white patterns!) I look forward to seeing you there.
Au revoir for now!
