Custom Converse

A few weeks ago I got hold of some Sharpie fabric markers and began doodling on my new white Converse All Stars.

The result: Inky All Stars! I've been scampering about in mine non-stop for 2 weeks, including a trip to the beach and being caught in an Aberderdonian summer downpour. I can confirm the ink doesn't run. Whilst my socks got soggy, the ink stayed crisp and smudge free. The wonders of fabric pens!

Inky All Stars

Due to popular Twitter demand I've bought 4 more pairs of All Stars (2 ladies sizes and 2 men's) and a whole box full of black Sharpies. I'm half way through my ‘elves and the shoemaker' style adventure, with all 4 pairs due to be ready early next week.

Each pair will be completely unique, featuring a bespoke hand drawn pattern in black. The shoes come in an equally charming hand embellished Converse shoebox, this time in white on black.

In a shift from my usual website and blog sales, I'm going to be selling these by auction. If  you want them, you place a bid. The minimum bid price will be the cost price of the blank shoes. After that, it's up to you!

I'll be opening up the Inky All Star Auction early next week and tweeting / blogging a link to the Ebay page. Be sure to take a peek and place a bid if you fancy some couture Converse this summer!

  • God. Youre just like, entrepreneur-extraordinaire. It sickens me how amazingly creative AND commercially savvy you are! These look amazing. I may place a bid. Although I suspect these are going to skyrocket in price.... you clever lady. So cool. Whenever I customise my converse they never are as detailed as this! Amazing. By the way, definitely contact Converse for an actual artist collaboration. Theyd be crazy not to. Id buy these if they were commercially made, in a shot. Good luck with the auction!! xxx
