Musa Aberdeen 6th Jul 2010

Musa is Aberdeen's best kept secret: a quirky little restaurant, gallery and live music venue housed in a former Church-turned banana ripening warehouse. Serving a fresh, inspired menu complemented by a seriously cool beer and wine list - it's a cultural hotspot in our fair city! (New website launches next week, follow Musa on Twitter in the meantime).
Recently taken over by James from BrewDog, Musa has had a bit of facelift; new menu, new drinks, new branding and... new Art. Alongside my inky adventures, I've been drafted in to curate Musa's changing bi-monthly exhibitions.
Like the menu, Art at Musa is fresh, contemporary and anything but predictable. We're shaking up the gastro-gallery stereotype, celebrating creativity and flooding our walls with the very best in art, photography and design. We love art which evokes a reaction, captures the imagination and reflects the passion we have at Musa. We don't like paintings featuring bowls of fruit or your gran's cat - unless it's a moggy of distinction of course.
To mark the official relaunch of Musa, we're throwing open our doors on Monday 12th July from 6-9pm and inviting you all in to see what we've been up. Click here for more details. It's the opening night of our first Exhibition, ‘Musa presents Central Station' featuring the work of 3 members of the pioneering online creative network; Adeline Scott, Rachel Yates and Emma Hamilton.

We're serving up a bite size showcase of Musa's quietly eccentric new menu, featuring Scottish buffalo carpaccio, haggis and apricot spring rolls and our much anticipated blue cheese ice cream (it's seriously, seriously delicious!). Add to that plenty of BrewDog beer, wines you can't get anywhere else in Aberdeen, a dash of live music and you pretty much get a taste of what we're about.

And if that weren't enough, we're delighted to be hosting Mark Jennings and the first #themeet140 Aberdeen. A sociable little gathering of those who Tweet, a chance to meet the characters behind the avatars and break the 140 character boundary! Click here for more details.
So, do please come along next week Monday, say hello, have a beer, a bite to eat and be part of the Musa story with us!
