Last year I worked with the brilliant team at Purple Circle  and the Thornton’s in-house design studio to create an illus

tration which would lead the Thornton’s 100^th Birthday Celebration in 2011.

The brief was to create an illustrated explosion of all things confectionary, intrinsically linked to the story of Thorntons and a visual representation of their 100 year history.

The illustration will be used across a wide variety of applications from packaging, point of sale and even on the aprons worn by sales assistants (a fact which particularly delights my mum!). To accommodate this I worked with Purple Circle to create one main illustration which can be stripped back to form 2 smaller extracted sections. The artwork can be used in its entirety, or in one of the two smaller formats depending on the application.

This was a such fantastic commission to work on. Creating artwork for a company with a rich (and delicious!) story behind it was truly inspiring. And of course, it required a fair bit of research which delighted both my sweet tooth and my inky paws…
