Computer Arts Projects

At the end of last year those nice folk at Computer Arts Projects asked me to take part in another Designer Challenge (see my

previous piece for this feature here). Basically, they set the brief and ask 4 different creatives to come up with their response to it.

This time round they were after a Yakuza inspired t

attoo as part of their Japanese issue which went on sale 31st December.

We were given the blank canvas of a rather muscly man’s back, then left to our own devices for a few weeks.

Here’s some snaps I took along the way…

To see the full feature, including the awesome designs of my 3 other challengers and read a little blurb about each of our inspirations and working practices, be sure to pick up a copy of this months CAPs.

Due to popular Twitter demand (!) I’ll be releasing this design as a limited edition silk screen print. After a little inky editing to make the tattoo artwork suitable for editioning, the job was done.

Tomorrow, I’m heading down to the lovely DCA and will be screen printing a sweet little edition of this design. Prints will be available on Monday.
