Ben from Orchid in Aberdeen dropped me a line over the weekend with some photos of me “in action” whilst painting the wall mural behind the bar. A unique alternative to those hideous chain establishments with their mundane wood panelling and generic upholstery, Orchid is going to be one super cool little cocktail bar.

Hand painted artwork provides a little bespoke magic to the bar, a wonderful way to enhance the empty space without filling it with generic wallpaper or resorting to the safe (but predictable) mirror. It can be elegant, quirky, stripped back and minimalist or full on baroque glam – endless stylistic options to suit any interior.
