I’m super happy to announce I’ve been commissioned by Scotland’s favourite whisky, The Famous Grouse to celebrate their 30^th Anniversary of being the nation’s favourite dram (that’s Whisky in Scottish!)

I’ve been commissioned to create a unique illustration, drawn directly onto a very special white statue of the much loved bi

rd. Once again however, the creative content of this bespoke piece will be decided by you!

At the end of last year The Famous Grouse ran a campaign with the Daily Telegraph to find the Famous 100 Pubs in the UK. They are now whittling those shortlisted 100 down to a final 30. The top 30 pubs and their unique stories will form the inspiration for the Grouse illustration which I’ll be drawing onto the big white Grouse in June. In addition to the inked-up super statue, we’ll be presenting each of the landlords with a custom print of their part of the illustration.

As for me, I’ll be temporarily moving back to my old studio at my parent’s house on the Fish Farm as the Grouse statue is so big, it won’t fit through the door of my studio here! (Expect some funny photos in a few weeks of my Dad and I attempting to unload said super-sized

Grouse!)

It’s hugely exciting to be commissioned by such an iconic Scottish brand, even more so when the brief is as exciting and creative as this. It’s a dream commission in every sense; cool client, amazing brief, creative work process and inspired outcome. I can’t wait to get started!

The statue will be displayed outdoors, so I’m currently testing a variety of pens and paints to see what will stand the test of the Scottish weather. I’m pretty much sold on these Edding Paint Markers, but if anyone has any other suggestions, please do drop me an email or leave a comment.
