I’m excited to finally share with you the cover for my next book, Ivy and the Inky Butterfly!

The US cover has a splash of soft, moss green and is embellished with gold and teal foil. In the UK the cover will be emblazoned gold foil details. Both books will be printed on ivory (I know these computer mock-ups look a little white!)  As with all my other books, each of my publishers in other countries will do something slightly unique with the cover. I wrote the story at the end of 2016, stitching together all the bedtime stories I’d been telling my daughter, Evie and making them into the magical tale of Ivy – the girl with a big imagination. Ivy embarks on a quest through the many realms of Enchantia in pursuit of an inky butterfly, meeting whimsical characters and discovering many wondrous things along the way.

 

I’ve spent the last few months creating all the artwork for the book. You can see lots of sneak peeks on my Instagram and Facebook feeds. This has truly been a labour of love which has seen me working firstly around a growing baby bump (thank goodness for my standing desk!) then with little Mia by my side, or more accurately, sleeping under the desk in her Moses basket!

 

At 120 pages, this is the biggest colouring book project I have ever undertaken and the perfectionist in me has meant the creative process has been much longer than my previous books. (Apologies to my lovely editor, Meg who has given me not 1 but 2 extensions on the deadline…) I’m almost finished now though and I can’t wait to share the finished book with you all in October and see how you bring Ivy and her inky adventures to life in your colours!
