Colouring Competition Winners
Once again you’ve only gone and made my lovely job TERRIBLE! There were SO many fantastic entries to the Ivy and the Inky Butterfly Colouring Competition and I had the unenviable task of picking 5 winners. I say unenviable, it’s a total privilege and I’m not really having a moan, but you know, you guys don’t make it easy for me!
I’ve picked pictures which I think showcase something awesome and inspiring about Colouring that will help other people in our community. Whether that’s an unusual technique, a pretty background idea or just being so darn cool that I did that thing where you get REALLY close to the monitor and just peer at the picture for ages, trying to work out what has made it so awesome.
So without further ado, here are our 5 winners…
I love the rusty colour palette in this entry by CJMac6399 which was inspired by the ‘Blood Moon’ lunar eclipse! It feels super atmospheric!
This picture by Ilse made me smile! It’s SO HAPPY! I love the bright colours, the luminosity of that background, the tiny rainbow leaves and the musical boat. It’s joy on paper.
Martina’s amazing nighttime scene is so enchanting! I love the way she has created this illuminated effect, truly magical!
I really liked the little glowing fireflies in this picture by Pig07465. Such a clever way to add magical points of interest and create a feeling of depth as they float off behind the foliage!
RubyRed has combined 2 of my favourite colouring things – rainbows and monochrome! Such a cool way to make parts of the illustration pop and other parts sink to the background.
Winners, please look out for an email from us at the studio as we’ll be contacting you to arrange shipping your PRIZES to you! Whoop!
Everyone else: Good Job. Seriously. The diversity and skill in the pictures uploaded to the gallery is nothing short of marvellous. Thank you for taking part and I hope you all had fun!
PS. You probably don’t know as I haven’t really mentioned it much (!) but my new book, World of Flowers is out in October. A colouring book full of beautiful blooms for you to bring to life. Take a peek here and pre-order your copy today to ensure you don’t miss the first flowering 😉
